With the support of 9 co-organizers and 7 supporting organizations, the "First Globally Recognized Standard to Industrial Safety of Cold Chain Forum" was successfully held on 9 October 2019.
The forum was organized by BSI, The Institute of Purchasing & Supply of Hong Kong (IPSHK) and Hong Kong Logistics Association in response to the raising concern of cold chain management and food safety. It has attracted more than 140 industry experts and participants in the related fields.
Mr Enoch Lee, the General Manager of BSI Hong Kong kicked off the event and followed by Ir Dannies Ho, the Chairman of IPSHK who delivered the welcoming speech to all the attendees.
Different industry experts were invited to share the cases on cold chain management and PAS 1018 (Indirect, temperature-controlled refrigerated delivery services. Land transport of refrigerated parcels with intermediate transfer). It was the first international standard on cold chain management in the world and is expected to be transformed into ISO international standards in year 2020.
After the networking break, the forum continued with the sharing of overcoming challenges in establishing Food Safety Management System and how Data Intelligence Drives Business Efficiency and Safety.
5 industry elites were also invited to participate in the panel discussion and they had an active discussion on the development of cold chain in Hong Kong.
At the end of the forum, Mr Alex Koo, the Chairman of Cold Chain Logistics Committee, HKLA stated that we will continue to co-operate to foster the development of cold chain.
